Joelie Kaernerk was re-elected in the general election held on October 25, 2021, to represent the constituency of Amittuq in the 6th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut.
Mr. Kaernerk previously sat as a Member of the 5th Legislative Assembly. Prior to his election, Mr. Kaernerk was employed by Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation as a Community Liaison Officer. Mr. Kaernerk previously served as a member of the Municipal Council of Sanirajak. His volunteer activities include search and rescue and community radio.
Mr. Kaernerk and Samantha Morgan are the proud parents of Jarrod, Katelin and Shania.
Mr. Kaernerk’s personal interests include hunting.
