Keith Peterson

Keith Peterson was born on February 2, 1956, in the city of Whitehorse, Yukon. Keith was elected to represent the people of Cambridge Bay, Bathurst Inlet and Umingmaktok in the Second Assembly of the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut in the February 2004 general election.

Keith has focused his career on economic and social development for the people of his region. He has worked as Manager of the Kitikmeot Economic Development Commission, Manager of the Nunavut Economic Development Organization, secretary-treasurer of the Kitikmeot Corporation and as an Inuit Impact Benefit Agreement negotiator for the Kitikmeot Inuit Association.

Prior to running for Territorial office, Keith served as the Mayor of Cambridge Bay, President, Vice-President and Director for the Nunavut Association of Municipalities and as Chairman of the Kitikmeot Law Centre.

Keith currently serves on the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut's
Standing Committee on Government Operations and Accountability, Standing Committee on Infrastructure, Housing and Economic Development and the Management Services Board.

Keith and His wife Sandra have two sons: Nolan and Brendan. They live in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut.
