About the Assembly

Ron Elliot was elected on October 27, 2008, to represent the constituency of Quttiktuq in the 3^rd Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. The constituency includes the communities of Arctic Bay, Resolute Bay and Grise Fiord.  

Prior to being elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, Ron was employed by Nunavut Arctic College as an Adult Educator for six years. He has also served as the Nunavut Field Liaison Officer for the Canadian Career Development Foundation in Arctic Bay. Mr. Elliott taught at Arctic Bay’s Inuujaq School for ten years. 

Mr. Elliot has held a number of positions in both the public and private sectors. He was the Chairperson and founding member of Nunavut Youth Consulting and the Nunavut Community Access Program. Mr. Elliott was also involved with the Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps. He also served as a member of the Arctic Bay District Education Authority. Ron has been extensively involved with the local Youth Committee in Arctic Bay.  

Mr. Elliott was born in Brantford, Ontario, the home of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. He enjoys photography, camping and spending time out on the land.
