About the Assembly

Moses Aupaluktuq was elected on October 27, 2008, to represent the constituency of Baker Lake in the 3rd Legislative Assembly of Nunavut.  

Prior to being elected to the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Aupaluktuq held a number of positions in the public and private sectors. He has held executive-level positions with the Nunavut Inuit Youth Council, Kivalliq Partners in Development Corporation, Inuit Circumpolar Youth Council and the Nunavut Regional Project Management Advisory Committee. He has also held trainee positions with the federal Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development. Mr. Aupaluktuq has served as a volunteer firefighter in the community of Baker Lake and was involved with Trent University’s Native Students’ Association Inuit Committee.

Mr. Aupaluktuq was born in Churchill, Manitoba. He has two children: Aputi Aupaluktuq-Doxtator and Ty Aupaluktuq-Doxtator. Mr. Aupaluktuq’s recreational interests include studying history, music and the natural world. He is an avid fan of the National Hockey League.
