About the Assembly

Mr. Enuk Pauloosie was elected on October 27, 2008, to represent the constituency of Nattilik in the 3rd Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. The constituency includes the communities of Gjoa Haven and Taloyoak. 

Prior to being elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Pauloosie was employed by the Government of Nunavut as an Environmental Land Affairs Officer for eight years. He served as the Planning and Land Administrator for the Hamlet of Gjoa Haven from 1995-1999. Mr. Pauloosie has also worked as a Lands Officer for the Kivalliq Inuit Association in Cambridge Bay and Kugluktuk. 

Mr. Paulooise has held a number of positions in both the public and private sectors. He was a police officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for five years in the communities of Baker Lake and Cambridge Bay. Mr. Pauloosie was also the General Manager of Housing in Gjoa Haven and the Assistant Manager for the Kikertak Co-op in Gjoa Haven. He has been an active board member of the Gjoa Haven Co-op and the community’s Hunters and Trappers Association. 

Mr. Pauloosie and his wife Celine are the parents of Devon and Mitch. Mr. Pauloosie is presently the band leader of the Gjoa Band, a community group with which he has been involved since the mid-1970s. He also enjoys hunting.
