Allan Rumbolt was re-elected in the general election held on October 28, 2013, to represent the constituency of Hudson Bay in the 4th Legislative Assembly of Nunavut. The constituency includes the community of Sanikiluaq.
Mr. Rumbolt previously sat in the 3rd Legislative Assembly. Mr. Rumbolt served as the Chairperson of the Legislative Assembly’s Standing Committee on Community and Economic Development and a member of the Management and Services Board.
Mr. Rumbolt originally moved to the North as an employee of the Northwest Company. In this capacity, he worked in a number of different Nunavut communities. After settling in Sanikiluaq, Mr. Rumbolt held a number of elected offices on the Municipal Council of Sanikiluaq and the District Education Authority. Mr. Rumbolt’s professional experience includes positions with the Municipality of Sanikiluaq and the community’s Local Housing Organization.
Mr. Rumbolt has two children: Garry and Paula. Mr. Rumbolt’s personal interests include hunting, fishing and outdoor pursuits. He has been an active volunteer with Sanikilauq’s search and rescue committee. Allan’s partner, Mina, is a life-long resident of Sanikiluaq.
